Its not just the flowers and insects that have suffered at Drumcroon Rd
The Drumcroon Rd verge has been managed for several years by a local farmer on behalf of the project for the benefit of the wildflowers and insects, and as part of this he takes the hay produced as winter fodder for his cattle. Which his cattle greatly prefer over silage.
Despite his best efforts to make the best of this malicious cutting and get the cut grass bailed, he was unable to do so before the grass was ruined by the torrential rain last week. So not only has the management of the site been compromised but the farmer has also lost out on valuable winter fodder. The fruits of his labour have effectively been stolen!
